Wamboo, Natalia Molinero's app for compressing videos in a sustainable way

Natalia Molinero has created an application for compressing videos sustainably in three different ways.

The Wamboo app, now available on the Google Play Store, lets you compress videos in 3 ways, all of them efficient.

Through Wamboo, once the process is finished, you can see the characteristics of the resulting video, the amount of battery used and the amount of pollution that will result from having to recharge that same battery percentage.

A few months after the launch of Wamboo, and following user feedback, Natalie incorporated a range of improvements that are now available on the app:

  • English and Spanish translation, according to mobile language
  • New information window
  • Description under each type of compression upon selection
  • Progress bar
  • Runs in the background while displaying a notification with the progress and status of the compression
  • The video saves in a folder called Movies/Wamboo
  • More accurate calculation of the emissions from compressing your video
  • Pollution is shown in green when it amounts to zero and red when it is a lot
  • Scrolling added for better visualisation
  • New fonts

To continue incorporating improvements, Natalie says it is important to obtain feedback from users who begin using the app. To enable this, the following survey is provided.

You can download the app via the following link.
