Learn about Levendis, the project by Miguel Sáez

Levendis provides a variety of resources including personalised apps built by doctors, for doctors.

During the pandemic, Miguel had to give up his role as a neurosurgeon and instead support the front line on the 13th floor of internal medicine at La Paz Hospital. It was then that he realised that the methods of collecting and storing patient data and information were not as efficient as they should be, and he set out to develop a system to improve them.

He brought together a team of doctors, programmers, engineers, lawyers and data scientists to develop a web app environment with two goals: The first, to facilitate the collection and structuring of medical data, and the second, to calculate parameters automatically. These parameters could be used to improve the quality of life and care of patients, for example by helping to establish prevention strategies.  This was the first step towards the creation of Levendis.

Levendis provides a variety of resources including personalised apps built by doctors, for doctors. These apps, based on artificial intelligence and machine learning, enable the efficient managing, processing and storage of data. There are many benefits to this form of data handling: it enables structured research, self-management, quality auditing, saving time for the doctor, etc.

And for Miguel, AI will play a fundamental role in future medical practice, especially in the prognosis and treatment of disease.
