Meet Miguel Sáez

Miguel Sáez completed his studies in Medicine at Universidad Europea de Madrid in 2016.

During his time as a student, he worked on rotation as part of a medical team at The Wesley Hospital in Brisbane, Australia, through a programme run by Universidad Europea. He remembers his time there with great affection and as one of his best university experiences.

After completing his undergraduate studies, he achieved fourteenth place in the Spanish Medical Residency Exam (MIR), with his results making him one of the top 10 students in his class.

In 2017, he began his neurosurgery residency at La Paz Hospital, and during the pandemic he had to work as a doctor on the COVID ward.

During this difficult period, Miguel contacted other healthcare professionals and engineers to found Levendis, a startup that applies artificial intelligence to medicine and, through the design of customised applications and the creation of databases and algorithms based on machine learning, aims to help doctors focus on their medical tasks.

His efforts in the development and expansion of his project have been recognised through the prize for best verbal communication at the National Paediatric Neurosurgery Conference and one of the second prizes in the Second Call for Unique Alumni Grants.
